Astaxanthin (as' - tä - zan' - thin) helps maintain antioxidant balance. 500 times more powerful then Vitamin E, astaxanthin in is a high quality pure pigment extract from an aquatic plant. High levels of antioxidants, like beta carotene and astaxanthin influence the immune system, and reduce the incidence of certain cancers (Bendich 1989, Ziegler 1989).
